Student Projects
Caramelized Carnage is an endless runner where the player runs over mutated vegetables to improve their high score. While the game is mostly inspired by games like Temple Run and Subway Surfers, we also wanted it to remind players of classic arcade games.
My work on Caramelized Carnage began with pre-production where I worked together with my fellow designers to establish gameplay design and the setting for the game. After pre-production I worked with gameplay programmers to tweak mechanics until we were sure that we had a fun game on our hands. In the final phase of the project I assisted the art team by rigging and animating characters.
Nachtmesser is a strategic stealth game where the player uses a knife capable of ricochet to dispatch enemies. Nachtmesser was a tricky game to develop. We didn’t have the time or resources to develop a stealth game like Thief, Dishonored, or Splinter Cell. Instead we focused on the ricochet mechanic, making it as polished as we could.
I was a designer on Nachtmesser and worked in pre-production where I helped establish setting and gameplay fundamentals. Throughout production I helped design levels and playtest the game. Towards the end of production I focused on helping with promotional art such as the poster and I set up the itch page where the game is published.
